The gun battles between soldiers and militiamen, who are all Shia Muslims, show that Iraq's majority Shia community – which replaced Saddam Hussein's Sunni regime is dissolving.. Does this mean the puppet Shiite government is splitting apart for the first time?
Maybe. But I don't believe Malicki makes a move without USA's OK. This is all very ominous. I always thought that Sadr always represented one of the essential building blocks necessary for the reconstruction of an Iraqi state. The Occupiers' assault on the Mahdi Army seems counter-indicated. Unless, of course, USA's intent is not to rebuild and get Iraq back on its feet, but to make it more dependent on a longer occupation.

Wartime president says says things are getting back to NORMALACY in Iraq. Does anyone remember the president who first coined that word?
My guess is Bubba during the "sanctions" maybe after his bombing when the Iraqi's were tipy toeing through the "no fly zone?' If I get it right is there a prize?
A long history with Coop has taught me that, like any good lawyer, he never asks a question to which he doesn't know the answer. In his absence, let me just say that my suspicions were confirmed when I looked 'normalacy' up. Let's just say (1) that the POTUS involved was before our time and (2), it's 'diagnostic': Bush's usage once again places him in undistinguished company!
