"As much as I hate to say it, I know beyond a doubt that the next weeks are going to be nasty. He’s leading, and there are people who simply cannot stomach the idea of his beautiful family living in the White House. There will be smears, all sorts of slander and lies, the likes of which you’ve probably rarely seen. So y’all, we got to pray for this man. And please . . . make sure you VOTE!" Yeah, where'd you get these? I thought this stuff was all classified!
Really powerful stuff. That was one of the things about the Vietnam War that made how horrible it was real to all of us at home--we watched the horror show every night on TV. We god the body count every day. Sadly, I have to admit that we knew the only thing that would get everybody out in the street and marching toward Washington, was when the body count got so high nobody could stomach it anymore. The press was not imbedded in Vietnam, news was not censored. Those were the days.
