But Vigilante is right. Only wars can be peddled. No one has ever heard of an occupation-mongerer.

Even the U.S. Marines want to join the Brits in re-deploying from Iraq to Afghanistan, where the real war is. Put a fork in the occupation. Too late to turn it. It's too toasted to save for the dog.
Yes! Absolutely! The USMC is a proud, proficient and professional combat force. Pulling occupation duty is below them. Below all American Armed Forces, as a matter of fact.
General Richard Sanchez says that the mission did not change from liberation to occupation: The U.S. automatically became an occupying force when the Army “totally destroyed” Iraq.
